To my shame…

While reading a recipe leaflet:
‘Mussels in Vermouth? That’s a long way to go for mussels! No, wait, I’m thinking of Vermont…’
Discussing lunch for a vegetarian:
‘I don’t think we have any soup with meat in, we just have tomato, spicy tomato and lentil, chicken, chicken and mushroom…’

Oops I think I missed a day.

Ok, so yesterday I was very busy (until about 10am). I did 2 loads of washing, including the delicate ‘dry clean only’ bridesmaid’s dress (soaked overnight, rinsed under shower). Hung this all on the line – nearly filled it, certainly made it too heavy to turn – and still had 11 pegs left [...]

Dilema, dilemma, whatever!

What do you do with a daisy chain which has been lovingly presented to you by your 3 year-old daughter after a long walk with grandparents?
I did think of throwing it onto the back lawn from the bedroom window, but that seems rather callous after the effort she (and my mum) put into it…

He’s coming home. It’s a shame. For those of you who don’t know, or can’t remember, he moved to the States with Work about 9 months ago. He’s ‘been given his orders’ and will probably be back in August. Now there are those of you out there who may think this [...]
